About	Marie Wood, 93, of California, MO passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the California Care Center in California, MO. Marie was born on August 16, 1928 in High Point, MO the daughter of Ely and Maggie (Campbell) Wood both of who preceded her in death. Marie graduated from Eldon High School and completed her college Master’s Degree at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. She was a school teacher at Russellville and California for 42 years until her retirement. Marie was a member of the First Baptist Church in California, MO, also helped at the Moniteau Co. Historical Society, Wood Family Library and the California Nutrition Ctr. and was a member of Daughters of the American Colonist. She is survived by; nephew, Roger Wood (Mary) of Jefferson City, MO; 3 nieces, Janice Parker (Jim) of Overland Park, KS, Jeannie Rentfro of Jefferson City, MO and Marcia Wood of Overland Park, KS; great nephew, Bryce Wood; 2 great nieces, Kristina Rentfro, Kelley Ogletree and great-great nephew, Eli Rentfro. She was preceded in death by her brother J.E. Wood. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 10-11A.M. with a service directly following at 11 A.M. all at the First Baptist Church Sanctuary. Burial will be at the California Masonic Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Jeremy Anderson assisted by Rev. Russell Cobb. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, MO.
