Sandy LaBeaux was an excellent athlete while attending California High School. That said, his real accomplishments took place after he left Cal High and his success reached new heights as an athlete at California State University at Hayward.

While at Cal High, Sandy lettered in football, basketball and track. As a receiver and defensive back, Sandy was part of a team which defeated San Lorenzo HS; that seasons NCS 2A division champions. As part of the basketball team, Sandy helped that squad reach the finals of the EBAL championship playoffs. As a track competitor, Sandy competed in the hurdles, jumps and middle distances, placing in the EBAL championships. All of this is made even more impressive when one realizes that Sandy had only just turned 16 before graduating with the class of 1978.

After California High School, Sandy attended Cal State University at Hayward where he competed on both the Football and Track squads. As a safety, Sandy earned All Far Western Conference honors in football. In track Sandy was the Division II National 400 Intermediate Hurdles Champion in 1981. After graduation, Sandy signed a free agent contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was with the Bucs for the 1982 and 1983 seasons and also played for a season in the USFL with the Houston Gamblers. After football, Sandy has worked in a variety of industries and recently returned to back home to California.
