About Me Naturally, I'm very passive. I've become much better at being assertive, but many who met me when I behaved passively seem frustrated with this new behavior. Because of this, I'm in transition in my life. It's taken me a while to convince myself that I have the right to speak up, but I've come a long way. I believe successful people are failures, who tried one more time. My pet peeve is when people take their insecurites out on others: that sets me off. I have little patience for people who perpetually complain. I love to travel, I just got back from England and Paris. I've wanted to go to the UK for years so as trite as it sounds, it was a dream come true for me. Part of my enjoyment was knowing I saved up for months to be able to go and didn't just charge to a credit card. I earned my bachelors degree this spring, which is another goal I've had for quite some time. I invested in myself and my future. It took me a while to accept that I'm a late bloomer, and that there's nothing wrong with that. It feels really good that while many in my life gave up on me-I didn't give up on myself. 'Power is being told you are not loved, and not being destroyed by it' Madonna “You may not agree with a woman, but to criticize her appearance — as opposed to her ideas or actions — isn’t doing anyone any favors, least of all you. Insulting a woman’s looks when they have nothing to do with the issue at hand implies a lack of comprehension on your part, an inability to engage in high-level thinking. You may think she’s ugly, but everyone else thinks you’re an idiot.” ~ Hillary Clinton 'I may not beautiful like you-I'm beautiful like me.' 'The dumbest people I know are those who know it all.' Malcolm Forbes 'Therefore we'll look at using money as a tool to get what you want, but not as a pursuit in itself' The Art of Non-Conformity "You let people use you, sooner or later you’re going to be all used up." Jonah Hill - Get Him To The Greek "When you lay down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.' “You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.” Winston Churchill ‎"Always make new mistakes" "It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.” Vince Lombardi “Criticism is something you can easily avoid by saying nothing, doing nothing, being nothing” ~Aristotle 'What? too hurt to respond? oh-that's right-you don't have feelings. see-the rest of us feel ashamed of ourselves, so we act like bitches to make ourselves feel better. You did it to fit in, but no matter how hard you try, you never will.'' Community 'When you look in the mirror and hate what you see, you need addictions to survive.' Don Miguel Ruiz 'Being liked is nice. Being respected is just as important. .. sometimes MORE important.' Professor Tom Brandau 'The practical reality of existing in a world full of people whose behaviors, feelings, opinions and words are largely influenced by ego, attitudes, fear, greed, insecurity and social-programming is that there will always be people who will find fault in you and me. No matter how “nice” we are.' 'If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough' 'Complainers tend to find each other; usually in situations they've created in order to complain about them.' Sark in 'Succulant Wild woman' 'The unexamined life is not worth living.' Socrates 'The point is: don't lose your dinosaur. -it kills me to see you so crushed and normal-' Step Brothers 'When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl. Then I say, 'Bitch, you're Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today.'" Lady Gaga 'We call them strong Those who can face this world alone. Who seem to get by on their own Those who will never take the fall. We call them weak Who are unable to resist The slightest chance love might exist And for that forsake it all . They're so hell-bent on giving ,walking a wire Convinced it's not living if you stand outside the fire. Standing outside the fire Life it not tired, it is merely survived if you're standing outside the fire.' Garth Brooks, 'Standing outside the fire' 'Honey you've been so busy trying to get everybody to like you that you never got around to liking yourself. And if you don't like yourself you can't respect yourself and if you don't respect yourself how can you expect anybody else to? The Golden Girls 'You’re being ridiculous. You are as attractive and desirable as you always were. But a lot of men can be intimidated by that. They don’t know if they can handle that much woman. So every once in a while this will happen. You know it takes a strong, confident, sophisticated, man to appreciate you. But honey they’re out there- wanting you as much as you want them.' The Golden Girls 'Bitches get stuff done. That's why Catholic schools use nuns as teachers instead of priests. Those nuns are mean old clams who sleep on cots and are allowed to hit you. And at the end of the school year, you hated those bitches, but you know what? You knew the capital of Vermont.' Tina Fey ‘What should I wear on this first date?’ ‘Whatever you do don’t’ shave your legs. You know-then you definitely won't let it go too far.' ‘It’s a first date!’ ‘You know how it is: you’re out with a guy, you find him attractive, and suddenly everything he says sounds brilliant. Hairy legs are your only link to reality.’ ‘you should needle point that on a pillow.’ ‘you know I just might. It kept me a virgin until- you know, ..whenever.’ Bonnie Hunt, 'Return to me' 'Human contact is important Lemon. I can tell by your stress level that you haven't been touched- in any way- in quite some time. Not caressed, not massaged, not even groped on the subway.' Alec Baldwin 30 Rock 'He's a Tourist. He vacations in people's lives, takes pictures-puts them in his scrapbook and moves on. All he's interested in are stories. Basically he's selfish-and you're not and that's why you don't like him' Ron Swanson, Parks & Recreatio...(read more)
