About	Burlington County Times MOUNT HOLLY - A 49-year-old Burlington Township native collapsed and died in an elevator at the county courthouse Friday morning, authorities said. Peter Mesthos, 49, of Sydney, Australia, was visiting the Burlington County Courthouse with his 15-year-old son at around 9:25 a.m. when he collapsed while getting into a first floor elevator, said county Undersheriff Harry G. Craythorn. Sheriff officers Dean Potts and Amber Nicotera performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the man until medics arrived, Craythorn said. Mesthos was taken to Virtua Memorial Hospital Burlington County in Mount Holly where he was pronounced dead at around 10:15 a.m., Craythorn said. Craythorn said Mesthos was visiting the courthouse to see Superior Court Judge Ronald Bookbinder, an old acquaintance of Mesthos from Burlington Township High School. "He was a good guy, a real fun-loving person who traveled a lot," Bookbinder said Friday. He said Mesthos was a mechanical engineer who moved to Australia several years ago, but has family still living in Burlington Township. An investigation was ongoing to determine what may have caused Mesthos to collapse, Craythorn said. March 14, 2004 7:57 AM
