About E. James "Libby" Liberatore died suddenly Wednesday February 25, 2015 at his residence in Burlington Twp. at the age of 60. Born in Philadelphia, he was a longtime resident of Burlington Twp. Libby began his career in public service as a volunteer with the Roebling Fire Co. in Florence 1971 at the age of 16 before moving to Burlington Twp. From there he served in many organizations, both as a volunteer and as a career. He was a dispatcher for the NJ State Police, the Beverly Police Dept., the Burlington Twp. Police Dept., and for Burlington County Central Communications. He also worked for the Burlington Twp. Police as a Special Officer and in a variety of other capacities.
Events Libby was a Past Fire Chief and Life Member of the Burlington Twp. Fire Dept. and the Beverly Road Fire Co., a member of the Delran Fire Co. No. 1, where he was currently serving as Vice President, he was a Burlington County Fire Coordinator and the current President of the NJ State Judges Association. He was also a member of the Delran Emergency Squad, a member of the Lake Harmony (PA) Fire Co., a Past-President of the Burlington County Fire Chief's Assoc., a member of the Roebling Fire Co., and the Beverly Emergency Squad. Jim was predeceased by his mother Gloria Liberatore-Grillo, his father Emelio "Shorty" Liberatore, his aunt Gennie Constentino and uncle Floyd Kemble. He is survived by his brother Raymond, his step-father John Grillo, both of Melbourne, FL, his aunts Dolores Shea of Lincroft, NJ and Joan Kemble of Parlin, NJ, his uncle Ralph Constentino of Melbourne, FL, great uncle Holmer Selknor of Ft. Myers, FL, cousins Sandra Shea, Lori Levy, Nancy Trimble, Edward Shea, Roxanne Blanchard-Constentino and Tammy Channey. He was also a friend to Shirley Burg - Liberatore of Florence and the many brothers and sisters in the many emergency services organizations that Libby was a part of. Viewings for Libby will be held Friday from 6-9pm and Saturday from 8:30-10am at the Beverly Road Fire Co., 1001 Beverly Rd., Burlington. Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday at the firehouse. Entombment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Mausoleum, Rt. 130 and Beverly Rd., Burlington.
