| About Me | After my graduate degree I worked in the Higher Education field, including as a University Dean. I also taught Women's Studies courses, an Educational Psychology course and have worked, advocated and been an activist in a variety of areas focused on marginalized and under-served communities and social justice including around women’s issues, poverty, persons with disabilities, gender identity, racial justice and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. I'm also a board-certified Holistic Health Practitioner and served as the Support Services Director working with breast cancer survivors. Currently, I am employed with the NYS Office of Children and Family Services and am a Union organizer. In addition to the activities above, I am involved in political and human rights activism and enjoy great conversation, a good laugh, a strong cup of coffee, reading, travel, walking, exploring new places, time with friends, working on my 1884 brownstone and urban garden in upstate New York, and exploring New York City with my daughter who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker th...(read more) |
