Enlisted in the Navy in 1960. Commissioned in 1969. Retired as a Lcdr in 1980. Flew as as a NFO in P-3A Orions. Participated in the Cuban Missile Blockade and served in 3 tours to Vietman.

Entered USAF in April 1964. Was sent to Syracuse University to study languages and served as a Russian Linguist. Earned promotion to Staff Sergeant. Selected for the Airman Education and Commissioning program and completed a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University. Completed Master Degree in Logistics Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology. Completed Indonesian Language School. Served as a commanding officer in Misawa Japan, and Goldsboro North Carolina. Also served in Germany (4 years), Turkey (2 years), Indonesia (8 years).

Two meterious combat promotions, temporary rank of captain, retired E-8, 21 years active and reserve.
