Larry D. Thomas
Class of 1965
Larry D. Thomas resided in Brownwood from 1961 until 1967. He graduated from BHS in 1965 as a member of the National Honor Society. In April, 2007, he was appointed by the Texas Legislature as the 2008 Texas Poet Laureate, and in 2009 he was inducted into the prestigious Texas Institute of Letters. Larry has authored eighteen collections of poetry, the most recent of which are A Murder of Crows (Virtual Artists Collective 2011) and The Red, Candle-lit Darkness (El Grito del Lobo Press 2011). He currently resides in Alpine, TX, with his wife, Lisa, and two Long-haired Chihuahuas. He is listed in Wikipedia, and his Web site address is www.LarryDThomas.com.
