BCHS Class of 1979 Reunion Meeting Date: June 23rd, 2009 7p TJ’s Ewing PRESENT: Sherrie Huffman-Anderson, Tammi Gray-Hackman, Tina Warren-Brewer, Norma Carroll-Lawyer, Hanna Crawford-Swayer, & Randy Swayer, Mark Persinger TOPIC DISCUSSION ACTION Call to Order 1900 Minutes From May 26, 2009 None OLD BUSINESS Tampico Yard sale Hanna reported we made $73.25, money given to Treasurer Tina, made enough to possibly cover postage for invitations. thank you to Hanna’s mom for letting us have it there, Thank you to Tina’s mom & sister for the donations, thank you to Sherrie for helping both days FYI T shirts Sherrie has a few available for sale now and will take orders as needed, send money, size & $15.00 to 11380 W. 930 S., Columbus, IN 47201 Class makes $8.00 from each shirt sold. Will add Tshirt order form on reunion RSVP card Contact info Tina found addresses for all but one returned post cards from John Abel’s fundraiser mailing. Hanna got Brad Hurley’s contact info & needs to get address list up to date so invitations can be mailed by Aug. 24thwith RSVP by Sept. 24th. Let Hanna know if you have updated address info for anyone Reunion dates/events Friday Oct. 23rd 7p Ice breaker @ TJ’s in Ewing Saturday Oct. 24th 9a Golf scramble at Hickory Hills Saturday Oct. 24th 6p hog roast pitch, games, & music at B’town American Legion Sunday Oct. 25th Family picnic @ Starve Hollow 1p Hanna talked with Mark F. & Brad H. and they want to play a golf scramble Food We will hire Chuck to roast the hog, Tammi & John Hackman are donating the hog. Sherrie will make large cake for dessert. Hanna still needs to check with Shannon Allman-Turmail about donating the processing. Mark will check with Chuck about how he prefers the hog be cut up. Entertainment Terry will DJ the event. FYI. Pictures Hanna is scanning yearbook pictures to show in power point presentation. Old pictures may be available from Banner office. If anyone has time, go check! If you have pictures from high school please send copies to Hanna to include. Games Be sure to bring your corn hole set up if you have one. Also need little known fact about yourself if you plan on attending the ice breaker. We still need someone to run the corn hole tourney if we are going to have. Door prizes Do we need to get businesses to donate some nice prizes for who came the farthest, most kids, etc.? Or have trophy made for corn hole? Let us know if you or your business has an item to donate. Memorial Karen Emily, Tom Cockerham, Jeff Wolfe, Jackie Hayes, Rita Nowland, Ray Troxell, Trudy Miller, John Shoultz Get your pictures or memorial info to Anita & Brenda ASAP. They will work on the memorial after the Freetown Festival. Ice/beverages Bring your own ice/beverages Coolers are allowed. Decorations Deb will have red & black decorations left over from family wedding we can use. If you have any red, black, bchs or braves décor we can use, let us know. Name tags Deb is taking care of them. FYI Sign in book Mary Goss-Osborne is taking care of it. FYI NEW BUSINESS $$$ We need to have another fundraiser, raffle, car wash, bake sale? The simpler the better. Anyone have any good ideas? American Legion bldg. Smells like smoke from bingo. We will have fragrant candles on the tables, etc. Golf scramble Sat. morning Oct. 24 Can we get businesses to sponsor it to reduce costs? Can we get some clubs to raffle off? Hanna will call Hickory Hills golf pro John Olson to get the 411. Tina will contact her cousin the Calloway rep. about a donation. Invitations Hanna spoke with Mark Foxworthy. His company will print the invitations similar to graduation invitations with an rsvp card and/or envelope to be included. What address will we use for RSVP? We will use Hanna’s address & she will get info to Mark asap so he can provide a sample/proof. Food May need to purchase containers for leftovers if we plan to consume them at the picnic on Sunday. FYI Other paper products Plates, cups, napkins, silverware, & leftover containers can be purchased at Sam’s club May need to bring toilet paper. Reportedly only one roll supplied by legion. Classmates Updates – John Abel is still doing ok waiting for a heart transplant. Anita & Lonnie Root’s daughter Tiffany is doing ok with her MS. Patty Burcham-Harris has cancer, is in Hospice at Wishard in Indianapolis, & they don’t expect her to live much longer. FYI Next mtg. Date time location Tuesday July 28th 7p @ the fair!
