About Jack received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He earned a Master Degree from the Kelly School of Business, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Jack and Diana Kay Jones married on October 28, 1967 at the former Bethesda Baptist Church. He became a chief project engineer for Allisons Division of General Motors and subsequently with Rolls Royce. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a lifetime active member of Parkside Bible Church (formerly Bethesda Baptist Church), Brownsburg, Indiana. He faithfully taught God’s Word for 54 years and was a Baptist Deacon for 35 years.

Besides his family, he loved books, woodworking and the Purdue Boilermakers. He was preceded in death by infant sons John Edward and Matthew Halsey. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, he was survived by his wife Diana Kay Jones; daughters Leah Rachelle (Jared) Alsdorf and Joanna Ruth (Scott) Bradley; sister Nancy (Jack) Rardin; grandchildren Jackson, Hannah, Kate, Seth, Meg, Rachel and Claire.

Jack was named after his Grandfather Edgar Jackson Halsey who was also known as Jack. Jack Edward graduated from Brownsburg High School's class of 1964 where he played on the school's Reserve Basketball Team.

He engineered the turbins for the USS Halsey Missle Cruise Destroyer, the third ship commissioned for Admiral Willliam "Bull" Halsey's name. The ship was dedicated at Pascagoula, Mississippi and was comissioned at Halsey Field, San Diego, California. Jack's family with his Halsey parents and relatives were in attendance for the ship's inauguration.

Jack is buried in the Bethesda Baptist Church's cemetery along State Road 267 near Mahoney Road in Brown Township, Indiana.
