About Me | Ralf immigrated from Germany to the USA and arrived in New York City in 1958. After graduating from Brooklyn Tech with an Aeronautical Engineering Regents Diploma, he enlisted in the USAF in 1968. After being assigned to Griffiss AFB in Rome, New York as a Parachute Rigger, he volunteered for Vietnam in 1970 and was assigned to Ubon Rachathani AFB, Thailand. Upon his return, he was transferred to Hulburt Field, Florida. He subsequently graduated as a computer system analyst and returned to Hulburt Field. His awards include: MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL, 2X AF COMMENDATION MEDALS, AIR FORCE PRESIDENTIAL UNIT CITATION, AIR FORCE OUTSTANDING UNIT AWARD W/COMBAT V DEVICE, 6X GOOD CONDUCT MEDALS, NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL, VIETNAM SERVICE MEDAL W/4 BRONZE STARS, AIR FORCE OVERSEAS SHORT TOUR, 2X AIR FORCE OVERSEAS LONG TOUR, 5X AIR FORCE LONGEVITY SERVICE AWARD, 2X AIR FORCE PROFESSIONAL MILITARY EDUCATION GRADUATE, SMALL ARMS EXPERT, AIR FORCE TRAINING RIBBON, VIETNAM CROSS OF GALLANTRY WITH PALM, VIETNAM CAMPAIGN MEDAL Ralf married Margaret, in 1972, and they traveled together to various Air Force bases. To include: Wiesbaden AFB, Germany, Torrejon Air Base, Spain, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, and Plattsburgh AFB, New York. He retired from the Air Force in 1988 as a Master Sergeant. After his retirement, Ralf worked for a large international company as Vice President of Operations and traveled to various locations such as Taiwan, Japan, India, Sweden, Germany Austria and numerous locations throughout the USA. A member of the Benevolent Order of Elks since 1989, a past board member of the North Country Chamber of Commerce, and a past board member and current member of the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club. Ralf is a New York State Master Hunter Educator and was awarded as the #1 educator for New York State in 2024.
