Betty Aldridge Wolfe
December 23, 1947 – March 28, 2019
Betty Aldridge Wolfe, 71, of Cayce, South Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children after fighting a battle with Liver Disease.
Betty requested that her earthly body be donated to the University of South Carolina Medical School to help train new doctors.
Betty was born in Concord, North Carolina, and lived in North Carolina and Florida while she was young before her family made Columbia, South Carolina their home. She was a member of State Street Baptist Church for over 40 years, serving faithfully in the Sanctuary Choir and the Women’s Missionary Union. She was also a member of the Lexington Choral Society for 2 years. Retiring from Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital allowed her the time to spoil her grandchildren, complete many quilting projects and travel with friends.
Betty is survived by her husband of 52 years, Carl F. Wolfe of Cayce, SC, her daughter, Karla (Kurt) Eibling of Bluffton, SC, her sons Darryl (Brianna) Wolfe, of Macon, GA, and Shaun (Rachel) Wolfe of Chapin, SC, and her six grandchildren, Evelyn (Tyler) Dahlgreen of Hagerstown, MD, Andrew Eibling of Bluffton, SC, Tyler and Caroline Wolfe of Chapin, SC, and Reagan and Davis Wolfe of Macon, GA. She is also survived by her sister Teresa (Henry) Cumbie of Myrtle Beach, SC, and her sister-in-law Martha Brock Aldridge of West Columbia, SC. She was predeceased by her parents, Marshall and Lucy Long Aldridge of Cayce, SC, and her brother Charles “Sammy” Aldridge of West Columbia, SC.
Betty’s family wishes to extend a very heartfelt “Thank You” to Martha Brock Aldridge, Shirley V. Collins, and the staff of Generations of Irmo for the unwavering care and support during her illness.
The family respectfully requests memorials be made to State Street Baptist Church – Building Fund, a place that was always close to her heart even when she was unable to be there herself.
