Air Force, 20+ Years
Served 21+ years. Bases include March AFB, CA; RAF Mildenhall UK; Hurlburt Field, FL; Ghedi AB, IT; Naples, IT; and Langley AFB, VA. As you can read, all hardship locations, wink wink. My favorite was my Italian tour and during my time there made many friends.

We then moved to Fort Stewart, GA where I have been the Battalion Human Resources Officer for the mighty 385th Military Police Battalion. I served in Afghanistan with the 385th for a lovely 15 months and am so happy to be home! We are currently getting ready for our next move back to Fort Jackson, SC where I will attend school for about 5 months before moving on to our next duty station.

Class of 1978
Navy, 20+ Years
I was recruited by ADC Joseph Massaro of Brockway, which inspired me to sign up in Navy Aviation. I had joined the Navy in August 1983 and attended boot camp in January of 1984 at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL as an Airman. Was assigned to AZ "A" School in Meridian MS and was stationed with VAW-125 "Tiger Tails" at NAS Norfolk, VA. Our squadron was deployed aboard USS Saratoga aircraft carrier for the next three years. On March 23, 1986, we crossed Kaddafi's "Line of Death" and our battle group had a brief confrontation to show Kaddafi who was boss as we destroyed his battle group. In August of 1988, I was commission as a 1525 Reserve Maintenance Officer. I was assigned to many reserve units throughout my career and travel to many locations throughout the world and US. The Navy has been a big part of my life and very proud that I could be a part of our great military history. I retired as a Commander from the Navy on January 1, 2007 after serving 23 years of service. I feel very blessed to live in this great country of ours and that I had the opportunity to serve my country.

I started my career in Orlando FL for boot camp and stayed there for the next year and a half going through Electronics Technician Nuclear Field 'A' School and Naval Nuclear Power School. I then proceeded to Windsor CT to complete my Nuclear education at the Nuclear Prototype Training Unit. After 2 years of schooling I was assigned to the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) as a Reactor Operator for the next 5 years 4 months and 17 days (not that I counted). I transferred back to Orlando to be an Instructor and Section Advisor at the Nuclear 'A' School that I had attended. The school got relocated to Charleston SC and was renamed Naval Nuclear Power Training Command where I finished out my 11 years and 8 days (again, not that I counted). I made Chief Petty Officer before finishing my career, or as I like to call it: Early retirement without benefits.
