About Butters, Robert Dale, SR 89 of The Mainland’s community in Pinellas Park FL.
Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away at Palms of Pasadena Hospital on Friday September 13, 2013 due to complications with cancer.
Dale was born August 20, 1924 in Brockway, PA. He was a resident of Nutley, New Jersey for 32 years where he lived and raised his family, with his high school sweetheart and wife of 62 years, Phyllis R. Butters.
Dale was a proud Navy veteran of WWII and an active member in various community organizations including the Elks Lodge, the Masonic Lodge #25, the American Legion, the department of veteran affairs, the Franklin Reformed Church and the local little league.
Dale relocated to Pinellas County in 1986 and to The Mainland’s community in 1999. He was very active in the community golf and bowling leagues. He enjoyed socializing with his friends and neighbors at 90th Terrace.
He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, his daughters Gail Ann Butters and Delores May Butters.
He is survived by his daughter Sandy Lane Pelletier (Mark) of Tierra Verde, his son Bobby (Debbie) of Highland Park, New Jersey; his grandchildren Melanie, DJ(Celeste), Ryan (Nikki), Shealee (Andrew), Kyle; his great-grandchildren Jay, Madison, Gavin, Mylee, Landon, Sienna, Matilda; his sister Renetha Shick (Paul) of Durham, North Carolina and Delbert (Elisa) of Mesa, Arizona; his sister-in-law Shirley Heidersberger of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Wednesday September 18th, 2013 at 5:30 PM with a service at 6:30pm at Brett Funeral Home at 4810 Central Avenue Saint Petersburg, FL. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations should be made to the “Make a Wish Foundation” or the “Leukemia Foundation” in honor of Gail Ann Butters.
