| About Me | Attended Northeastern University and worked as a Bradlees store detective and as a DEA student intern (co-op student) with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Boston and in Washington D.C. Graduated in 1980, and hired on with DEA as a career DEA Special Agent/Criminal Investigator. My first assignments were in New York, Boston, and Rhode Island from 1980-1989. Married Marie in 1985, after meeting in the Bahamas (her native country). Our daughter (Malea) was born in 1988 in Stoughton, MA. In 1989, I was assigned to the DEA Buenos Aires, Argentina Country Office working at the U.S. Embassy as a diplomatic, assisting the Argentine Police forces with drug investigations and training. The entire family (wife-Marie; Damien- oldest son; Malea-daughter; and Andre - son who was born in Argentina in 1990) lived in Argentina for 6 years (1989-1995). Returned to the U.S. in 1995 and was assigned to DEA in Miami. We lived in Coral Springs, FL during that assignment. Was a DEA Group Supervisor leading the Mobile Enforcement Team which targeted violent drug organizations for arrest and prosecution. In 1998 assigned to DEA Headquarters in Washington D.C. Worked as the DEA Chief Spokesman, and made numerous appearances on CNN, C-Span, and all the major networks. Even worked with Film Director Steven Soderberg during the filming of Academy Award winning movie "Traffic"...with a cameo role (loads of fun). In 2001, we moved back overseas to Lima, Peru. I headed the office and led drug operations in the jungles of Peru for 4 years. Afterwards, we relocated back to to Washington, and I was the Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the DEA Washington Field Office. In 2007 I was promoted to the Senior Executive Service and headed DEA Executive Policy. In 2008, I retired after 30 years of service with DEA. Worked at MAXIMUS Federal Services located in Reston, Virginia (2008-2015) - Managed a Department of Justice contract providing financial investigators to government agencies. In 2015, joined Professional Risk Management, Inc. (PRM) as a Partner to manage a similar DOJ contract. Enjoyed my government service with DEA. Worked undercover a lot (the best part of the job).
