Robert O. Davis Sr., 70
Robert "Bob" Oliver Davis Sr., 70, of Broadway, Va., died April 24, 2011, at his son's residence in Elkton.
He was born Sept. 27, 1940, in Rockingham County, and was a son of the late Ralph Oliver and Mildred Boyers Davis.
He was a ground maintenance worker at Massanutten Resort. He was a member of Mount Carmel United Brethren in Christ Church in Fulks Run, where he sang in the church choir. He also sang in a traveling church group. He graduated from Broadway High School in 1959. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and working with the Special Olympics.
Surviving are a daughter, Terri Ann Davis of Broadway; a son, Robert O. Davis Jr. and wife, Kay, of Elkton; a brother, Ronald Davis and wife, Anna, of Lacey Spring; two sisters, Sherry Ritchie of Lacey Spring and Debbie Smith and husband, Gary, of Broadway; grandchildren, Craig Taylor II and wife, Clisty, Kori Roach and Taylor Roach; and great- grandchildren, Tayvia Taylor and Craig Taylor III.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger "Butch" Davis.
