About Me | I was born in Velasco, Texas on the Gulf Coast and raised in the small Gulf Coast town of Port Isabel, Texas. Like the protagonist in my first novel Point Deception I ran away from home, lied about my age and Joined the Coast Guard at the tender age of 14. Although my single mom found out she agreed to let me stay in provided I obtain at least my high school GED. I left the Coast Guard attended the University of Houston and graduated from Baylor College of Medicine (PA program) and later joined the Army as an airborne combat physician assistant. After leaving the Army I practiced in the civilian sector for a number of years before joining the Navy Military Sealift Command as a civilian mariner physician assistant. It was here that I got the idea for my first novel Point Deception which was released by Eloquent Books on 3 November 2009. As most first novels tend to be it started as a fictionalized autobiography. I was not too long into the manuscript when I discovered that the story had a life of its own. It turned into a Coast Guard story in honor of the men and women of the U. S. Coast Guard, America's smallest, oldest, and proudest sea service as seen through the eyes of the protagonist Tim Kelly. I retired from the Military Sealift Command 27 February 2010 and now live in Warwick, New York where I intend to continue my writing career. I am working on the sequel to Point Deception titled The Campeche Reprisal. This is the brief synopsis of the new book: SYNOPSIS: Undercover DEA agent Tim Kelly is rescued after seven days of torture at the hands of the Campeche Drug Cartel; he plans to marry Brenda Conrad the love of his life. When Brenda and her best friend, the daughter of the Governor of Texas, are kidnapped by the Cartel and taken to a secret location in the jungles of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Tim recruits a local Mayan rebel leader to help him rescue the two women.
