| About | ROMAN CAROL ANN (CYD) Age 67, died Wednesday, October 6, 2015, peacefully, in her Brentwood home after a two year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion E. (Rimlinger) Roman; and father, Charles R. "Chick" Roman; her brother-in-law Ronald Pfeil; and her niece, Stefanie Joy Haller. She is survived by her sisters, Marilyn E. (Roman) Pfeil, Susan M. (Roman) Haller (Robert C.); and her brother, Robert C. "Bo" Roman; also survived by her niece, Kelly (Pfeil) Elias (Keith); nephews, Charles R. Haller and Nathan C. Haller; and great-niece Chelsey Elias. She is also survived by many loving cousins, and faithful friends. Cyd was a graduate of Brentwood High School and the University of Pittsburgh, where she began her working career in the Student Union. Later she moved on to the Athletics Department and worked for Johnny Majors, Jackie Sherrill, and Foge Fazio. During those years she traveled to many classic College Bowl games. She lived in Hawaii for a short time, while working at a law firm. She worked for US Air, which allowed her to travel often. She was also employed by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the early 90s. She worked in the Pittsburgh Coroner's office, and her last employment was with the YWCA downtown. Over the years she made so many great friends and acquaintances. Her Celebrity Brag book was pretty amazing. Cyd always had a flair for unique fashion and style. There was no mistaking it. She enjoyed shopping, flea markets, and concerts in the park, oldies shows, the beach, and the casino. Her homemade Christmas cards were beautiful and always personalized to be one of a kind. The family would like to thank those of you who came to visit during these last few weeks, and for sending all the nice cards and well wishes. Her strong will and bold opinions will be greatly missed by all. Per her request and final wishes, no service will be held. |
