John Stewart '73 Message

John Stewart '73 said:

I got the call one afternoon, and could not believe the closest friend from my post high school days was dead in a mere 6 hours.
We had just reconnected and were meeting often between New Jersey and Massachusetts.
I was a good “everyman” foil for his prodigious intellect: “John, you always seem to nail a concept right on the head”, Joe once said.

We pushed way past the limits partying at Penn State, on top of a fire station on
Nittany Ridge at 6am for sunrise after
a night of revelry.
Often he would be deep in contemplation,
he would be scolded for “doing nothing”.
He replied “people don’t give you credit
for thinking”.
I miss him at least once a week as one who understood my weirdness. Go Joe!
