About	From the Auburn Journal (Auburn, California, February 11, 2018): Judy lived in Auburn (Calif.) for more than 30 years before retiring to Garden Valley, Idaho. She worked most of her educational career in Northern California: two years at Ione High School, 15 years at Weimar Hills, five years in Southern California, and 10 years at Colfax High School. Judy passed away after a courageous 29-year battle with cancer. She left the following message for family and friends: "I have had 65 wonderful, precious years, close to 30 years of 'bonus' days since I was given less than a year to survive breast cancer, and now the last 10 years battling ovarian cancer. Fighting cancer is not for sissies, however I had cancer….it never had me. I can truly say that cancer was the worst thing and the best thing that ever happened to me. I have been blessed with many years of living each day to its fullest. I want you all to know that I am totally at peace and leave you with my favorite quote: 'Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.' " -- She is survived by her mother, one brother, one sister, friend and partner Chris of Garden Valley, ID, one daughter, two granddaughters, four nieces, three nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was proceeded in death by her father.
