About	After HS, Miriam lived in Morgan Hill with her husband, Jim Baggott, a San Jose police officer. They divorced around 2000. Soon thereafter, Miriam moved to Merced (CA) where she married Rick Porter. --- According to a former neighbor: "Miriam started her own company call Merlyn Travel Publications. She traveled many places and took crazy awesome notes. She got a staph infection from being caught in a hurricane in Barbados, but she loved it. Miriam absolutely loved cats, had several of them, and could never turn down a cat in need. She was a very giving person and would do anything for anyone, especially if they needed a little help." --- Miriam battled cancer for many years before finally succumbing to the disease in August 2014. Her husband Rick died 8 months earlier in December 2013.
