About	From the Manteca (CA) Bulletin newspaper (Nov. 12, 2013): Mark was a school teacher and church deacon. He received his teaching credential from San Jose State University where he met his future wife of 32 years, Julia. Mark began his teaching career at Lathrop Elementary School (Lathrop, CA) in 1980 and taught there for nearly thirty years. The last few years of his career were spent at Veritas School. Teaching was his joy and passion, and he was active in the Manteca Educators Association. He especially enjoyed going to science camp almost every year. He was also a committed member and deacon for many years at both First Baptist Church and Sequoia Heights Baptist Church. His church community became an extension of his family, and he found great joy in serving others. He also enjoyed serving through The Gideons International for over 20 years. --- Mark enjoyed spending vacations with his family, fishing in the Sierras, and gardening with his golden retriever by his side. Mark’s deepest joy was in time spent with his family. Mark was preceded in death by his parents. and he is survived by his wife Julia, three daughters, one brother, one sister, and many nieces and nephews.
