About Me	I believe that education should be a life-long pursuit, an important lesson taught by the ancestors. Not just reading, writing, or math, but about self, family, society and God. My life work is to insipre others to understand their gifts, nurture faith in those who perhaps may not have hope and to teach and preach faith until we all get it, the way that Jesus gave it to us. As a good news reporter, my responsibility is to go and deliver a message about love that empowers and inspires change. I am so excited about my journey and someday sharing my encounters in a book. For a long time, my mother and I have worked on an extensive geneology reseach. This summer, we will travel to Pittsburgh and Washington to meet a branch of our family tree that we never knew existed. Truly this is God working in history to reconnect. As we have worked to put the pieces together, we learned that my great-great grandfather was a run-away slave that joined the US Colored Troops. His regiment helped to defeat the Conferate Army, which ended the Civil War thus ended chattel slavery. His family in Pittsburgh was the result of a second marriage. In my case ethnicity has always been an important issue. I learned it as a child after moving to the south, as a journalist, an educator, and a woman in ministry.
