About Me	After graduating and spending one year at Boone Jr. College, I married, and we set off to Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. We were there for 9 years working on graduate degrees. March 1977 found us living in a Houston, Texas, suburb because my husband had a job after just one year with a post-doctoral appointment at Purdue after completing his doctoral degree in nuclear physics. I was on my way to my doctorate in English. I had completed my qualifying exams and had only to write my dissertation. That never was completed because we had a 2-yr-old daughter who needed me more than I needed that plaque to hang on a wall. I spent 14 years as an at-home-Mom, but divorced in 1989 and began teaching part-time at two community colleges, and in 1993 I began a full-time teaching position at a multi-campus community college in the NASA part of Houston.
