| About Me | Besides the joy of raising 2 amazing teenagers, Roger Wilcoxen is an Ordained Minister and Elder for the State of Kansas, nationally certified Offender Workforce Development Specialist (OWDS), trained and registered as a Relationship Counselor with Life Innovations, nationally certified with National Association of Workforce Development Professionals as DWCP-CS and DWCP-JSS, holds an AA in General Business, AA in Bible and a BS in Cross-Cultural Missions from Southwestern Assembly of God University in Waxahachie, TX, a MA in Counseling Psychology from University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS, and is currently pursuing a MS in Criminal Justice from University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO. He is a Regional Career Advisor and Re-entry Specialist for Workforce Partnership and has an office in Leavenworth, Kansas. He has written several articles for National Career Development Association which has been republished in journals, blogs, and other articles across the United States. He is a local and state conference speaker for Kansas Association of Master’s of Psychology (KAMP), for which he served 4 years as a State Board Member, and a conference speaker for American Counseling Association Kansas City, MO (ACAKC-MO). Roger has served in several capacities within Career Development from an Instructor, Contractor, Director, and currently as a Career Advisor and Re-entry Specialist. The population in which he serves includes individuals with various economic, mental, physical and criminal disparities. Currently he provides assistance to individuals whom have faced either voluntary or involuntary career transitions consisting in tremendous barriers to employment. He has a vast knowledge of various federal and state grants that offer assistance to individuals in career transitions. He also assists in career transitions for inmates from Lansing Correctional Facility, United States Penitentiary, Community Corrections Corporation and Fort Leavenworth USDB. He serves on the local Community Relations Board which provides insights to employers and community leaders on career transitions and connecting ex-offenders with potential employment opportunities. He also does regular speaking engagements at the prisons and half-way houses. He is also an independent contractor in the State of Missouri for Department of Children and Family Services providing Parent Aide supervision for adoption processes, individuals within the judicial system and custody battles. He teaches parenting skills, prepares reports for custody litigations, and oversees diverse cases. He also provides crisis interventions. Outside his daily career, He wrote his first book in 2013 called, “Emotional Roller Coasters Leading to a Life of Freedom” and has several published articles. He also serves as Vice President of Money Talk Financial and is a national conference speaker.
