Favorite School Memory	Donna Parminter & I skipped tryouts for concert band and Mr. Lipscomb chewed us out, telling us we wouldn't get another chance. We were happy because we didn't want to be in concert band. About a week went by and Mr. Lipscomb approched me stating that he was going to give me another chance. I wasn't worried because I knew I wasn't good enough to make it. Showed up, played my scales, played a piece that I knew, then I had to sight read a piece I'd never seen. It had so many notes that I didn't have a clue on how to count it out. So, I just started playing, trying to hit as many of the notes as I could. I didn't bother trying to count it. Finally, I just stopped playing and waited for Mr. Lipscomb to tell me how awful I was. Instead, he looked at me and told me that I came closer to playing that correctly than any clarinet player in band! Moved me to 3rd chair concert band. lo...(read more)
