About Me | For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 ^^ That's my favorite scripture in the bible. I'm not exactly sure why. I think that because what it means to me is no matter how much I mess up in life, it's ok because everyone messes up. God is the only one that is all-knowing and perfect. Hi:) I'm Katie. Kate is my real name. Kate Elizabeth. I like my name. I often doodle it when I'm bored. I also have an interesting way of speaking and articulating and tend to use big words and I'm proud to be a little bit of a nerd. As of freshman year I have gotten all A's and have the highest GPA in the grade. Yes. I am one of 'those people'. Don't let my academic history fool you though, I'm not that weird. Well, not completely "un-normal" I suppose. I pride myself on being semi-normalish. I can actually hold a conversation with people. Socially I'm not super awkward. I have friends. I play sports, and consider myself somewhat athletic. I play soccer for the KC Metro Dynamos, and they are my second family. I love all of them with all my heart. At one point we were the sixth best ranked team in the country. Unfortunately, I have had a little adversity in my life when talking about sports. I have had two major injuries and surgeries. I tore my first ACL May 27, 2010. Yes that date is memorized. The surgery was June 7... I think. So nine ish months later all is well and I am playing soccer again! Yay! My team went to England where we basically kicked butt and took names. All was well... and then on July 15, I tore my second ACL. Among hearing those words come out of my doctor's mouth, my world started crashing around me. Everything kind of... fell apart. Outlook of life changed. It went from everything being easy and getting away with just having fun to really struggling in many aspects and areas of my life. I started freshman year on crutches. People make ACL jokes all the time... but if they only knew how much pain and struggle and how awful they make me feel I don't think that they would say them. I'm fifteen years old and already have pain in my body every day of my life. I can't sit in the car or movie theater too long, and I've lost speed and went from being a top athlete to one thats ok. But enough of the sap story!! I also love to sing. I sing all the time- in the shower, at church, when I practice the piano, whenever I have a song stuck in my head. I am sure that I don't have the prettiest voice in the world, but it's something that I love and that I can't help and do a little bit. :) LALALALA. One thing that I've gotten into a little this year is debate. I really like it. Onto family! I have been blessed with the best family in the whole world. My beautiful mother is hardworking, and an awesome role model. She keeps us in line while showing us love and compassion. My dad is great- he always pushes me to do the best I can. He is probably the reason for a lot of my success. Oh, I have a twin. His name is Zach. I love him. Even though sometimes I might not act like it. Being a twin is special and I think that Zach is one of the best people I know. He is honest and athletic and incredibly smart. And humble. And then there is Nick-- my little guy! He is the reason that I smile every day. He might not realize it but he is just amazing. Plus he's a baller! I have also been blessed with a great extended family... amazing grandparents that come to nearly every game and show me nothing but love, uncles and aunts that serve as role models, and cousins that I have nothing but respect for. I look up to all of them. Why on Earth did you read this whole thing? You must ...(read more) |
