Christie Ambrosi, born on December 21, 1976 in Overland Park, Kansas, U.S., is a notable alumni from Blue Valley Northwest High School. She's widely recognized for her triumphant athletic career in softball, notably as a gold medal-winning Olympian at the 2000 Sydney Games, representing the United States.

Ambrosi was a formidable softball player throughout her career, exhibiting exceptional prowess both as a shortstop and an outfielder. Her athletic journey led her to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she played for the UCLA Bruins in the Pac-12 Conference from 1996-97, and again in 1999. During her tenure, she played a significant role in securing a national title for her team in her final year and was honored as an All-American all four years.

Post her remarkable stint with UCLA, Ambrosi's career soared even higher as she became part of Team USA for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. With her consistently outstanding performance, she helped her team secure a gold medal at these prestigious games.

After her playing career, Ambrosi transitioned into coaching and headed the Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) Cardinals softball team, further contributing to the world of softball.

However, her time at SVSU ended, and she made a unique appearance playing in the Celebrity All-Star slow pitch game hosted at Community America Park in Kansas City, Kansas.

Throughout her softball career at UCLA, she played a total of 184 games with an impressive batting average of .366. She scored 143 runs off 228 hits, batted in 105 runs, and hit 11 home runs. She also had a slugging percentage of .500, indicating her potent power at bat.
