| Favorite School Memory | Home Room with Mr. Staler. We were told to come up with, a class motto, class flower, class colors, it was so boring. However, out of the blue the great and wise Mr. Steve Benson stated "while we’re at it why don't we pick a class "Bird".' The class went wild we picked the other things in about a day. But it took us about a week to decide on whether The 1969 Class Bird would be a "Peace Dove", (remember the times), a "Duck" (who know why), or "Beep Beep the Road Runner". At the time we were all not very sentimental and while the duck was close. The Road Runner became our Class Bird. For years after each class then chose a Class Bird. The practice has now slid away. But we were the first class to have a "Class Bird" While every student is a Bulldog. Each class has a right to have its own identity. The Road Runner Rules!! Oh as a side note my brother Brad's class of "74's" bird was a Buzzard. If you look close on Carroll side of the train bridge over Winchester Road by McDonalds you may still see the faint outline of a Buzzard on the Bridge. It was there for...(read more) |
