Michael Lawson
Class of 1970
Army, 19 Years
I completed a four year tour in the AF as a 91D surgical technician. During my tour I was stationed in Texas, California, and Turkey and I reached the rank of SSG.
I also completed 15 years in the Army. I started my army career as a Armored Cavalry Scout and ended it as an M1A1 Abrams Tank Master Gunner. I reached the rank of MSG and was slotted for the Sgt Majors academy but I opted out because if I accepted, it would have added 4 more years to my service commitment.
