| About Me | Following graduation, I worked for the Westfield Insurance Company and then the Lodi Bank. I married Phil Nagy in 1969 and we moved to an apartment in North Olmsted. I found a job in Rocky River setting up an insurance agency within the parent company. Phil and I enjoyed the freedom of not yet having a family and we enjoyed socializing with our friends, being in a pinochle club, joining a bowling league, and traveling quite a bit. Our favorite places were on the beach, especially in the Caribbean. In 1972, I became very active in the N.O. Jaycee Women, and remained a member for 12 years. In 1975, Phil and I purchased a house in North Olmsted and I worked two more years. In July of 1977, I gave birth to a daughter, Alison Melissa. Two years later we moved to a larger house In North Olmsted. Three months later, I gave birth to a son, Jeffrey Scott. I was fortunate to be a stay at home mom. Over the years I cared for other children in my home and did clerical work at home for an attorney in town, For five years I was the Clothing Director for a crisis nursery called Providence House on Cleveland's near west side. Once my children were in junior high, they began playing sports and my fulltime job was now driving them to their games. Jeff played soccer & basketball and Alison played volleyball & basketball. Our life became centered around sports and we loved every minute of it! I did take a part time job doing clerical work for an association that was part of our church, but I was able to set my own hours. I later did volunteer work for our church and eventually became the pastoral secretary there. My daughter married in May of 2004, and my son married in August of 2004, so needless to say, that was a big year for us. In July of 2005, I suffered a stress induced heart attack while visiting my daughter in PA. I ended up in the Altoona Hospital for a week, but my heart is fine and there was no permanent damage. I just left my secretarial position at the church last March due to fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. It was difficult to make it through a day or to know if I would even be able to get there and the time came when I just couldn't do it anymore. It took a while to adjust, but now I really love being home. I have the freedom to have lunch with my friends, work in my flower gardens, have a leisurely cup of coffee on summer mornings on my patio, and my favorite is having more time for my family, You see, I am now called Mimi by my three year old grandson, Noah Scott Nagy, who I care for every Thursday and Friday while his mommy works. Those two days are the highlight of my week! I am a MOPS child care worker, a greeter at church, an altar guild member, and I work the church's baby nursery.
