About	Shane Yates, age 40, of Columbus, died Sunday, February 21, 2016. Shane was a 1993 graduate of Black River High School, and a 1997 Graduate of Ashland University; and currently serving as the Executive Director and President of American Societies Alliance. He was the former Executive Director of the Ohio Physical Therapy Association. He was Certified in Non-Profit Executive Leadership from Indiana University School of Public & Environmental Affairs, and was a Certified Meeting Planner. In 2014, Shane was recognized by the Association Forum of Chicagoland USAE Weekly Newspaper and Connect Magazines as one of the Industry’s top young professionals nationwide in their under 40 issue. Shane was a member of Phi Kappa Si Fraternity, and served as a Chapter Advisor of Capital University Chapter of Phi Kappa Si Fraternity. Shane is survived by his mother, Beatris Yates; sister, Edwina Smith both of Columbus; nieces, brother, Scott Yates, Hope (Tyler) Reynolds, and Brennan Smith of Loudonville; nephews, Brady Matthew Smith of Loudonville, Justin Yates and Jeffrey Yates; great nephews, Trysten and Trevor Reynolds of Loudonville; and great nephew, Spencer Smith of Loudonville. Shane was predeceased by his brother, Larry Dean Yates.The family will welcome friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085 . A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at The Welsh, 315 East Long Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
