About PENN SGT. THOMAS E. PENN, 43, of Atwater, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010. He was born Jan. 4, 1967, in Ravenna. Tom worked for the past nine years with the 371st Minimum Care Detachment Unit, U.S. Army Reserve Base in Twinsburg, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. Prior to his military career, Sgt. Penn worked at the Press of Ohio in Brimfield. He enjoyed family activities, movies, race cars, computers, and model planes and cars. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of ten years Dawn (Pipoly) Penn and devoted daughter Nicole. He was also the loving son of Sid and the late Roberta (Kolk) Penn; dear brother of Bryan (Rachell) Penn and is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Cremation has taken place, and friends will be received SUNDAY, SEPT. 5, 2010 FROM 2-4 AND 6-8 P.M. AT THE WOOD-KORTRIGHT-BORKOSKI FUNERAL HOME, 703 E. MAIN ST., RAVENNA. A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, 263 S. Prospect St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com.
