About Charles Christopher Linden, 60, of Wellington passed away Sunday May 5, 2019. Born on December 1, 1958, in Lodi, Charlie was the son of the late Robert and Clara Jane (nee Pitts) Linden. Charlie grew up in Spencer and graduated from Black River High School.

Charlie "Chuck River" was a talented Black River athlete, who excelled in every activity he participated in, including basketball, baseball, golf, and track. Charlie worked for Country Metals at the Qualiform plant. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles, as well as St. Patrick's Catholic Parish. Charlie was a simple man, who enjoyed spending time outdoors, in his garden, or on the golf course. He was a jack of all trades and a talented wood worker. He was both competitive and skilled in horseshoes, pool, darts, and bowling with golf being his first love. He was proud to have coached his sons Hot Stove baseball teams for several years. Charlie impacted many lives with his kindness and humor and will be remembered for his heart of gold and his hard work ethic. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather and cherished time with his family, especially his granddaughters and was a "favorite" uncle of his many nieces and nephews.

He leaves his loving wife of 36 years, Anne (nee Brinker) Linden; his children Cassandra (Derrick) Ault and Charles Cory Linden; his granddaughters Isabella and Gianna Ault; sisters Bette Jane (Tim) Eberling, Doris (Delbert) Dawson, and Gail Stevens; brothers Richard Linden and Daniel (Doreen) Linden; sister in law Laura Linden; and many nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by his brothers Robert and William Linden. Also Justin Kinter, who had become part of the family.
Events Friends and family will be received on Thursday, May 9, from 4-7 p.m. at the "Old" St. Patrick's Church, 512 North Main Street, Wellington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday beginning at 2 p.m. Rev. David Trask will officiate and burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
