| About Me | #1 - I became a Professional Student. I spent 21 years earning my degrees while raising 3 children and 2 grandchildren, as a single mother. Along the way I had wonderful opportunities, experiences and now have stories to share. Education should never stop; it's intoxicating as it leads to freedoms you never knew you could obtain. College is undervalued in the amount of influence it plays in shaping 'one's own value system' and not that of their upbringing/environment solely. For me attending a well-known research university with a large international student attendance/knowledge/input made it a better experience. I was able to have a fundamentally different understanding on foreign politics, policies, and the varied types of government & societies. But even more shocking, was the discovery in learning cultural differences that are invisible as you cross state lines but are very present when you become a resident.
