What is Gabriel Macht (born 1972) known for?

Gabriel Swann Macht, better known simply as Gabriel Macht, is a renowned actor born on January 22, 1972, in the Bronx, New York City, U.S. He is best known for his portrayal of Harvey Specter in the USA Network series Suits from 2011 to 2019. Raised in California from the age of five, Macht's educational journey started from Beverly Hills High School, leading him to the Carnegie Mellon College of Fine Arts. At Carnegie Mellon, he became a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity.

Macht's acting prowess was evident early on. At the tender age of eight, he was nominated for the Best Young Motion Picture Actor Award for his role in the film Why Would I Lie?. His career evolved, and he appeared in numerous film and television roles, including A Love Song for Bobby Long, The Good Shepherd, Because I Said So, and The Recruit. Macht's commitment to his roles was apparent when he spent a week at sea filming for the 2001 film Behind Enemy Lines.

An interesting twist in his career came when he took on the title role in Frank Miller's 2008 adaptation of Will Eisner's comic creation, The Spirit. Although the film initially failed upon theatrical release, it and Macht himself subsequently gained a cult following. A significant turning point in his career was when he signed on to star in the USA Network drama Suits, a series that ran for nine seasons with Macht appearing in all episodes. Notably, he received a co-producer credit from season 3 onwards.

On the personal front, Macht married Australian-born actress Jacinda Barrett in 2004 and they have two children. He is known for his vegetarian lifestyle and practices of green living.
