Diane L. Forsstrom, age 72, of Beverly, passed away Wednesday
morning, January 8, 2020, at Beverly Hospital in Beverly. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Heino and Lillian (Overberg) Forsstrom.
Diane was a 1964 graduate of Beverly High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader. She studied Business at Salem State College, graduating in 1976 and later furthered her education at Catherine Gibbs School in Boston.
Diane had been employed for many years as a secretary. She spent two years living and working in Rome from 1970 to 1972 from where she returned home with a Siamese cat named Zobo.
Diane was an active member of the Birka Lodge. Her interests included gardening, baking and learning new things. She devoted much of her time and energy as a loving caregiver to family members and family pets.
She is survived by her daughter, Erica Gates and her husband Anthony of Beverly; her grandson, Soren Gates of Beverly; her sister, Nancy Gillespie of Helena, Mont.; her sister-in-law, Janice Forsstrom of Peabody; and nephew Hal Forsstrom of Los Angeles. She was also predeceased by her brother, Allan Forsstrom.
