ronald (cope) hess

Class of 1964

After graduating from BHS Ron enlisted in the Army and volunteered for a tour of duty in Vietnam. He served in Vietnam with the First Cavalry Division and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and spent the next 35 years working for the Pennsylvania State Parole Board. He supervised on parole many young men and women in the Columbia, Montour and Luzerne county area. His primary concern was for the rehabilitation of his parolees and acted as their mentor and role model. He is retired from the Parole Board now and resides on his farm in Orangeville, Pa. Ron has always been proud of growing up in Berwick and has many fond memories of his friends, family and classmates.
