I enlisted in the military in 1953 and had 16 weeks of basic training at Fort Leonard
Wood, Mo. then went for 4 months at the Engineer School at Fort Belvoir, Va. From their I went overseas to France where I spent 2 1/2 years with the 821st Engineer Aviation Battalion at Dreux Air Base. Returned to the states in 1956 and was discharged at Fort Dix, N.J.
