About	Sgt. Edward Eugene McClellan grew up a typical southend kid and packing house brat when South St. Joseph was in its heyday. He was very proud of being an alumni of Benton and being from the southend. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967 and was assigned to 1st Cav. Div. as a combat engineer. He was killed in the service of his country in Vietnam during the tet offensive. He was awarded the Bronze Star and purple heart. He was brought home and laid to rest at Memorial Park.
