He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1972 and was employed with the Portage Public School System for l5 years. He was also a self employed artist for many years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Blossom Bailey; and a sister, Vicky Ballard. On July 1, 1972, he was united in marriage to Linda K. (Hutchinson) Bailey who survives.
