AUGUST 17, 1970 – MARCH 9, 2024
Tara Lee Stevens - Whitley, age 53, of Southport, North Carolina, went to her heavenly home and gained her new body, peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
Tara was born August 17, 1970, daughter of the late David and Carol Stevens. She worked for many years in the dental industry until her health no longer permitted it. Tara was a sweet and caring mother who always put other people before herself, no matter how bad she felt. She loved the Lord and knew that He was in charge and His timing is perfect. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan - Go Buck's!
Survivors include her husband, Joey Whitley; a son, Trey Lloyd; a step-son, Jacob Whitley; three brothers, Scott Atkinson, Zack Atkinson, Josh Atkinson; and two sisters, Beth Kennell and Jammie Troxell.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in the Peacock - Newnam White Funeral Home Chapel. The family will have visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
