Jake was a great friend. He taught math at Olympia Jr. College, after serving in Army Intelligence in Vietnam. We went out for lunch in the UW area in 1989. I phoned him a year later, but got no answer, so I phoned his brother in Bellevue. Unfortunately, Jake died of cancer at age 62. He was exposed to Agent Orange, which caused his tragic death. I still miss him. He was a great friend. - Peter Whitmey
