Anthony was a jock, yeah, a super jock,
and a friend too, a guy with a smile
that collected sunlight and turned it into fun.
He amazed me with those headlong runs
into the line,
breaking away like a pronghorn antelope, all you heard were cheers of triumph
in maroon and white,
a warrior, rocker, ladies man,
but mostly a friend
who treated me like one.
