Dorothy Louise Pelko Hayes class of 1940 valedictorian

Dorothy Louise Pelko Hayes, valedictorian of the Beech Grove High School class of 1940, died suddenly of cardiac arrest on Feb 21, 2010 at age 87 in Grand Rapids MI. She was a beloved wife, mother, and teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Robert Hamilton Hayes. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Hayes MD (Stephen Donner) of Seattle WA, her son Richard Hayes PhD (Sherry Burrows) of Alexandria VA, and two grandchildren, Charlotte and Connor Hayes, both of Alexandria VA.
