Larry James Cox was born July 7, 1946 at Saint Francis Hospital in Maryville, Missouri. The son of Elvin James Cox and Coryl Correne (Hensley) Cox, he grew up in Conway, Iowa on a farm. Larry graduated from Bedford Community High School in 1964 and then attended Northwest Missouri State University, graduating with a BS in Education in 1968. He then enlisted in the United States Army, and served in Viet Nam from 1969-1971 earning the rank of Sergeant. He also worked many years for the Pepsi Company on a part time basis. Because of health reasons, Larry moved to Clarinda, Iowa to be closer to his brother and sister and his family. Larry left this world on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Good Samaritan Health Care in Villisca, Iowa.
Larry was baptized in 1960 at the Bedford Christian Church. At one point in time, Larry wrote a story about Moses in the Bible and suggested he may someday become a Pastor or a Missionary.
