Patricia Ann Herrmann, age 76, passed away on June 3, 2022 peacefully at home. Loving wife of 51 years to Paul E. Herrmann. Beloved daughter of the late Gene E. and Mabel Pauline Sickels. Dear sister of William Sickels MD and Kathy (Kevin) Miskelll of Iowa. Loving sister-in-law to Roger and Peggy Herrmann, and Daniel and Jill Herrmann of N.J. Fond aunt of many loving nieces and nephews.
Known by family and friends as Pat, she was born in Clearfield, Iowa. After graduating High School in 1964, she enrolled at Iowa State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1968. She then moved to Illinois and pursued her career as an Elementary School Art teacher in Villa Park. She continued to further her education by earning a Master’s degree from Northern Illinois University.
After retiring, Pat stayed very involved with equal rights advocacy, and served as an election judge for many years.
She also enjoyed her participation in discussions and activities with the Progressive Women’s group in Naperville.
Pat’s interest’s were wide and varied. It included her collection of Cabbage Patch Kids, teddy bears, ceramic figurines, hand crafted baskets, pottery, rocks, sea shells, paintings, and a huge collection of books.
Most of all she loved her pets, cats and dogs, especially our current companions, dogs Enzo and Truffle. With all our love and sadness, we will truly miss having Pat here.
