Frederick William Heath III of Georgetown, TX passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the age of 79 at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital after a prolonged battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Fred was born on April 29, 1935 in Bedford, PA to Thelma and Frederick William Heath, Jr. He was married to Wanda Lou Beringer of Martinsburg, PA from February 22, 1958 until her passing in 2005. He is survived by sons Brad Heath of Austin, TX and Glenn Heath of Plano, TX, their spouses, Sareta Anselmi Heath and Erin Thompson Longley Heath, and grandchildren, Cassandra and Kyle Heath, and Collin and Alexandra Longley. After the passing of Wanda, Fred married Trudy Sandwell Heath in November 2006 in Georgetown, TX. Fred is also survived by Trudy and her children Christy Lehman and John Sandwell and their spouses, Vern Lehman and Cheryl Sandwell, and grandchildren Amanda and Shelby Lehman, and Zachary and Chloe Sandwell.
Fred received a BA in hotel and restaurant management from Penn State and managed hotels and college dining halls for more than 25 years, including Franklin and Marshall, Ursinus College, and the University of South Florida. He opened and operated the Club Cafeteria restaurant in Tampa, FL for over ten years before selling it to pursue his other dream full time, painting. He and Wanda were pulled to the state of Texas by the birth of Brad’s first child and their first grandchild, Cassie, and began full retirement coupled with volunteer work at his church and community of Sun City. This spirit of volunteer work continued with Celebration Church in Georgetown until his death where he could always be found volunteering in some ministry of the church.
• A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, August 18th at 1 PM at Celebration Church at 1202 Rabbit Hill Rd, Georgetown, TX 78626. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions in honor of Frederick William Heath III to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60611.
