Patricia Renee (Wyatt) Wilson

Class of 1980

LT Wilson was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to William and Elaine Wyatt of St. Louis, Missouri. She moved to St. Louis in 1965, graduated from Beaumont High School in 1980, and then departed for Navy boot camp at RTC Orlando, Florida in October 1980.

LT Wilson served onboard the USS Jason (AR-8), home ported in Honolulu, Hawaii, before separating from the Navy in 1983 to become a full-time wife and mother while her husband continued his 24-year Naval career. As a civilian, LT Wilson was employed as an Information Technology (IT) Project Manager.

In June 1995, LT Wilson re-affiliated with the Navy by enlisting in the Navy Reserves. She reported to Helicopter Special Support Squadron FOUR (HCS-4), home ported in Norfolk, Virginia were she served as an Aviation Administrationman, in charge of aircraft logs and records.

In May 2002, LT Wilson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, specializing in Computer Information Systems through St. Leo University. She was commissioned through the Navy’s Direct Commissioning program and became an Aerospace Duty Maintenance Officer in October 2002 and remained as a drilling reservist with HCS-4 until January of 2006. While attached to HCS-4, LT Wilson completed a highly successful combat deployment to Balad Air Base, Iraq in direct support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the Global War on Terrorism. On this deployment, she managed around-the-clock maintenance of four HH-60H helicopters.
In December 2005, LT Wilson re-designated as an Information Professional Officer and augmented back to full time regular Navy. In February 2006 she reported to the Pentagon in Washington, DC, as the Technical Director for the Office of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Operations, Plans and Strategy. As the Technical Director, she supported the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Battle Watch and the Crisis Action Team watch floors.

In June 2007, LT Wilson earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) through St. Leo University.

In March 2008, LT Wilson recently served onboard the USS Kearsarge, home ported in Norfolk, Virginia as the C5I Information Systems Officer (CISO). While onboard, she made one deployment to the SOUTHCOM AOR in support of Operation CONTINUING PROMISE. During this tour, USS KEARSARGE was awarded the Battle “E”, Humanitarian Service Award, Marjorie Sterrett Battleship Fund Award and the Battenberg Cup Award as the “best ship” in the Atlantic Fleet.

Lieutenant Wilson is currently assigned as an Action Officer, for United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Center for Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Lieutenant Wilson’s awards and decorations include the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Navy "E", National Defense Service Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Navy Reserve Sea Service Ribbon, Naval Reserve Medal, Navy Pistol Shot, Navy Rifleman and various others.

Lieutenant Wilson is married and has two children currently serving on active duty in the United States Air Force.
