Eleanor Meltzer
Class of 1979
Eleanor graduated from BHS in 1979. She received an undergraduate degree in International Relations, from Stanford (1983) and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law School (1990). Eleanor is an attorney, registered with the bar of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Since 1990, Eleanor has worked for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (www.uspto.gov) as a trademark attorney. She is currently the Chief of Staff for the USPTO.
In 2006, Eleanor received a Gold Medal from the Department of Commerce for her work in negotiating the Singapore Trademark Law Treaty. She is a past Chair of the Virginia State Bar's Intellectual Property Law Section.
